Yoga is becoming huge among sports people. From professional athletes to weekend warriors, yoga is the new must-do compliment to their training. This Specialist Yoga Teacher Training gives you the practical skills and understanding to engage successfully with athletes.
Following your Accreditation you will be able to:
- Teach safely, confidently and successfully with athletes and in sport.
- Sequence and adjust confidently based on understanding the needs of the sport.
- Sequence confidently based on an athlete’s / group’s needs – recovery, mobility, prehab etc.
- Understand how flexibility & stability work together to create good movement.
- Create positive professional working relations with athletes & medical / conditioning staff.
- Gain the new Yoga Alliance Professional ‘Teaching Yoga in Sport’ specialist accreditation.
Who is this for?
- Registered Yoga Teacher 200 hour minimum.
- Other movement specialists / instructors such as pilates teachers, personal trainers, medics, physiotherapists, fitness trainers / S&C coach, soft tissue therapists.
- If you are not a yoga teacher, you will need to attend at least 40 hours of yoga classes by the end of the course.
About Sarah Ramsden
Sarah has worked in professional football for 12 years, including 10+ years at MCFC & MUFC, where she worked long-term with Ryan Giggs, working with senior, youth & academy players. Clients include football clubs, GB Taekwondo, & individual athletes. She specialises in the effective training of range, stability & movement patterns, drawing from her extensive knowledge of functional anatomy, yoga, pilates, & many movement disciplines.

- All contact hours are directly with Sarah who will guide and mentor you through your accreditation.

A packed, fun, practical, challenging, hands-on course! You will learn a huge amount, get lots of skills and new repertoire into your instructing and adjusting, become qualified as an instructor, and leave with a huge range of skills for working with athletes (and regular people!!).

Assignment preparation

Ongoing teaching practice within small groups during course sessions (and in your classes!)
Assessed teaching as part of the course qualification.
Putting It All Into Practice! Accreditation (post-course)
Assess, design and deliver a 15- minute training programme for a player / athlete over a 6- week period and present the intervention as a powerpoint or similar for course qualification. This will be assessed after the course for your final accreditation!

- A refund (minus a 10% + VAT admin fee) will be made for cancellations made more than 28 days before the start date. For cancellations less than 28 days before the course or workshop there will be no refunds or transfers unless:
- the course/ workshop is full and your place can be filled from a waiting list, or
- you are sick/injured/pregnant and can provide a doctor’s note
In these cases we will refund the fee, minus a 20% + VAT admin fee.
