True to form, our level of ability will reflect the training techniques we trust, but are our habits or stylistic preference getting in the way of progression? Are we confident that genetics rather proper effort and training is the reason why we struggle in postures we perceive as requiring innate rather than learned flexibility? Are we confused by conflicting points of view when it comes to anatomical cues and alignment, specifically when it comes to backbending and split work?  We all hail from various influences that colour our practice of yoga. Rather than assume that one method of pracitice is right, the other wrong, we will assume that all cues can be right given the proper application. We will shed light on the grey areas, the space where confusion and misunderstanding of how to arrange our various parts leads to the repetition of patterns that have may not serve us well.  Discussion, Q & A will be encouraged throughout the class. More advanced postures are a continuation of a sound understanding of the fundamentals. Each postural group will have the option to stay with the fundamental expression or expand to its variations, which will make this class suitable for beginners to experienced yogis.

About Bronwen

Bronwen is a 500 ERYT yoga teacher, dance performer and teacher from the Okanagan region of BC, Canada. She began to teach yoga 11 years ago while living abroad in South America and Europe, and continues to travel to teach internationally. Bronwen's study of various performance arts, somatic disciplines and primarily Ashtanga Yoga has taken her to several other countries, which has exposed her to various cultural interpretations of these movement streams that have innovated her yoga practice and teaching style. With a deep respect given to lineage, tradition and philosophy of yoga, her work includes a selection of postural, breathing and meditation techniques that are more empirical than faith based in nature. Longevity of practice is rooted in a strong foundation, adaptable mind and body, and a love for the work, which she aims to inspire in all her students through clear instruction and individual attention delivered with a few laughs. She aims to make class an informative and enjoyable experience for all. Please visit her on her social media with handle @bronwenkettleson or website for more info: www.bronwenkettleson.com
